About

Hi, I’m Sari. Originally from Shaker Heights, Ohio, I live in Brooklyn, NY with my husband and our 4-year-old. After earning a degree in theatre from Skidmore College, I moved to New York City to pursue acting and directing, but spent a decade working in restaurants, where I fell in love with food and hospitality.

I went back to school to earn a Master’s in Food Studies at NYU. After graduating, I worked as a writer and researcher for Expo Milano 2015, the first World’s Fair with the theme of food. I went on to host and create two food radio podcasts on Heritage Radio Network, write about food and culture, plan bespoke culinary travel itineraries, and work as a culinary cookbook publicist at HMH.

I ultimately found my professional home in culinary public programming at the Museum of Food and Drink (MOFAD) (where I was awarded best virtual programming during the pandemic) and later at Platform by the James Beard Foundation. My forthcoming cookbook, Honey & Schmaltz, will be published by Clarkson Potter in Fall 2027.
